Now that's Natural Touch Marketing

If you want to attract new clients, you may want to give people who don't know you a chance to experience what you have to offer at no risk.

Most people are hesitant to try something new. In this case, however, all you are asking from them is a little bit of time to receive the benefits of your service — something you believe in so much you are willing to make an investment of your time to show them how much they have to gain!

Here are some basic tips that will help you maximize results for your effort.

Offer promotional, 5- or 10-minute clothed bodywork sessions in health food stores, gyms, salons, athletic events, other health practitioners' offices, work sites — just about anywhere there's lots of foot traffic.

Pick locations likely to have the kind of clients you want to attract, people who are willing and able to pay your fees, and who are the kind of people you enjoy working with. For example, if you want to attract people who already invest in their self-care, you may want to set up at a fitness center, in a naturopathic clinic or next to an organic produce stand.

Make friends with whoever supervises the location whether it's a shop owner, receptionist or event planner. Offer a free sample or give them discount coupons to use for your services.

Once on-site, set up a massage chair if you have one. If not, use a chair to give neck and shoulder massage or energy work, or have people lie on your massage table, if appropriate for the location.

Use a simple screening form, so you can ensure safety, and be sure to include space for their name, address and phone number. Later you can send them a promotional postcard with a discount announcement, newsletter or brochure on a topic of their interest, for example, "Massage for Women" or "Sports Massage."

Give each participant your full attention. Listen well to their needs, and let them know where they can find you.

Make sure you have your appointment book out, but don't push them to schedule. If you have picked your location well, you'll have no trouble attracting some great clients.
