Bring In New Clients with Massage Gift
Certificate Sales
"Life is not easy for any of us. But what
of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in
ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something,
and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained."
—Marie Curie
Make the most of your gift
certificate sales. When prospective
clients receive a massage
gift certificate from a loved one
or friend, they will know that you are highly valued by someone
they know and trust.
It is when recipients actually redeem their certificates, however,
that gift certificate sales pay off. That's when you get to demonstrate
your abilities to new people in your community. Even better,
it gives you a chance to establish regular clients who may provide
you income—and referrals-- for years to come.
Here's how to get those gift certificates to work for you.
Post "Gift Certificates Available" posters with
your contact information both in your office and in other appropriate
places such as a club where your clients work out. Does a client
or neighboring business have a wall or window to hang your
poster?
Place gift certificate samples in your office where your clients
can look at them. Have them displayed on the counter where
your clients pay you so they will be reminded at that time.
If you're giving a public
presentation or attending a gathering
of health care practitioners or business people, bring along
gift certificates, display them if appropriate and be prepared
to sell them!
Mail postcards or send emails before the winter
holidays,
Valentine's, Mother's Day or other times as reminders.
Let your clients order them with a check or credit card via
phone, by email or through your website. Then mail gift certificates
back to your clients or directly to the recipients, or make
them convenient to pick up after work or on the weekend.
Make the gift certificates delightful in themselves. Chose
colorful, eye-catching certificates and envelopes that will
make the giver feel proud and the receiver feel even more special.
Our customers have suggested attaching bows, stickers and ornaments.
Some have put together gift baskets including additional small
gifts such as candles, tea bags or aromatherapy products.
Include a client education brochure or
handout on a topic that targets the interests of the recipient.
Information on stress would be appropriate for almost everybody.
Is the recipient male, female, an athlete or a senior? Choose
a brochure or other information that specifically shows how
your work can help them.
Gift certificates can be one of your best ways of bringing
in new clients. Make professional, eye-catching certificates
readily available and increase their use by potential clients.
