Using Massage Newsletters to Promote
Your Business
"The
deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated."
—William James
Massage therapy is a personal service, and a newsletter is a personal
communication that reinforces the relationship between you and your
clients. Like other client education information, with a newsletter
you are giving your clients something of value, information that can
increase their understanding of what massage can do for them, and how
they can better care for themselves.
This kind of marketing serves your
business, but it also serves your clients in a very personal way. The
bottom line is that it helps them, and that's why you're in business,
right?
A well-written, attractive newsletter is also a sure sign of your professionalism.
Add your logo and include your website address if you have one.
Remember, even people who love your services sometimes get too busy
to remember to book an appointment. Consider
including one or more of these in each newsletter:
- a discount coupon
- an announcement about a new modality they may want to try
- a simple
reminder about how easy it is to schedule an appointment
Decide who you want to mail your newsletter to.
- Do you want to invest
in a mailing to your complete mailing list?
- Do you want to do a smaller
mailing to your more regular clientele?
- Or do you want to have clients
sign up to receive it, and only send them to those who express an interest?
After mailing a newsletter, use additional copies to promote your
business elsewhere.
- Keep a stack of newsletters in your office, and
distribute copies throughout your community.
- Take copies to natural
products stores, doctors, chiropractors, acupuncturists or other health
care practitioners that you respect in your community.
- Also be sure
to take them with you when you make presentations or attend health
fairs and other community events.
Give client newsletters a try. By sending a newsletter, you are promoting
your clients' health, your relationship with the client, and the success
of your practice.
