Eileen was a class act, and will be hard to follow. But I’m game for the challenge!

Many of you have shared your insights with me in the process of writing brochures, client handouts, presentation guides and client newsletters. And while researching and writing all those absolutely free articles in our practice-building archives.

I really value your input over the years — your ideas for new materials that can help answer your marketing needs, for example, and your reviews of new products. Now I look forward to exchanging ideas a lot more often.

Here’s how we can interact via the blog:

I give you useful, practical tips, and guide you in the best use of our variety of products.

You ask questions, and add your ideas and insights.

I give my opinions on the why’s and how’s of marketing, and answers for marketing in (and out of, hopefully!) a recession.

You tell me when I’m spot on…or all wet.

Let’s start with an image.

Visualize small businesses (like yours) as surfing right now. That’s right, you are out there in the salty ocean, waiting for the next wave. Maybe it will be a ripple…or a REALLY big one.

Anything can happen anytime, but especially right now, in this economy. You have to be ready to shift and change as the waves roll in.

Here’s an idea for surfing those seas:

When business is slow, notice who is still coming in. Why are they coming in? Who are you helping, and how are you helping them? Write the specifics down. For instance, you notice you have several women over 60 that are regular as clockwork. Why? Joint pain. You help them keep moving, knees and hips, neck and shoulders. Wouldn’t other older women love to know about you? Yes, they would.

Can you let them know without taking out an expensive newspaper ad? Yes, yes, yes. Read more in the next post!

I would love to hear from you. Email me anytime.

Be well,

Diana
