The Massage Nerd and Gloria Coppola have put together a nice video explaining what to expect from your first massage.  It’s a great example of something you can add to your website or Facebook page, or email to clients. In fact, if you have a blog or email newsletter and you would like people to subscribe to it, sending something useful like this is a good way to convince them.

Take an extra step

You can go farther with marketing your practice than simply promoting your gift certificates at the holidays, or announcing your openings on Facebook. (Although those things are good.) Innovative ways of reaching out helps you maintain contact with clients between sessions and gives them something to pass on to others.

Word-of-mouth on the web

In a recent post, I talked about how client newsletters make it easy for clients to pass your name along. Sending or posting useful information like this video or articles related to massage is another example of this. A client may view it, and decide to pass it on to her sister, co-worker or neighbor. Or she might like it on her Facebook page.

Before you send or post something, add a comment recommending it (and massage!).  Whoever reads it will then have a link back to you and what you have to say about it. Who might they think of when they consider getting a massage? At the very least, they might send back a follow-up question.

If you are on the web, use it! Pass along information about new techniques you offer, what conditions massage can help, or new research. Scour Youtube, the massage journals (online) and Facebook to find interesting tidbits.

Are there any resources on the web that you particularly like? We would love to pass them along!
